This physique is a problem for many women, who consider it physically unattractive and detrimental to the whole body image and self-esteem. Besides, sagging skin is highly impervious to diets and exercise. In this case, a thigh lift may offer remedy.
In the case of a simple thigh liposuction, an arcuate incision is made in the groin and in the crotch area. Excess skin is removed, and the soft tissues of the inner thigh are pulled and fixed to the groin, resulting in a tightening effect. It is necessary to ensure that the scar is placed precisely in the natural fold of the skin in the crotch for it to remain imperceptible. The skin parts which are to be removed will be marked before the operation.
A distinction is made between a small and a full inner thigh lift. As mentioned, in case of a small lift, the scars lie in the crotch fold or groin region, whereas in the case of a full lift, which is usually performed after massive weight losses, the scars are placed both in the crotch region and vertically along the inner thigh (“T-incision”). The downside to the full lift is that the long scar on the inner thigh is hard to conceal.
Each operation takes 2.5 – 3.5 hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure. A postoperative in-patient stay of one to two days is obligatory. The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Any postoperative pain will be effectively soothed with medication, so you will not experience any considerable pain. A corsage has to be worn for a period of 4-6 weeks. The incapacity for work will last for 1-2 weeks. All sports activities should rest for a period of 4-6 weeks.
